After 2yrs of planning and an endless outgoing of $'s the day is fast approaching for departue.
What originally started as a black top tour of Oz has now evolved into a
combination of both black top and offroad experiences.
We
purchased
an offroad campertrailer 12mths ago and not having had an previous
knowledge of them we were mainly governed by our budget. We set some
basic needs when purchasing mainly a hard floor that would allow for
fast setup for those 1 night stops, slide out kitchen, good
storage,offroad suspension,offroad hitch,battery,water tank.
Our
purchase of the Pinnacle hard floor met all these needs at a very
reasonable price, although not of the quality of some of the more well
known brands I felt at the price it would
allow me to modify and add to it.
Next to come was the choice of the tow vehicle, we had a Dualis awd but it was nor suitable for our needs.
Again we are restricted by budget and after much toing and froing and from advice from others we
decided on a Toyota Prado. We have added dual batteries, electric brakes, roof cage and draws and fridge slide.
Our
plan is to leave Wollongong on 30th June and head west to Broken Hill
then across to Coober Pedy where we will spend 2days then onto
Uluru.
We only have 4mths so intend to fast track the first part so we can get to all the good bits
