Day 4
 Port Augusta to Coober Pedy
A long tiring drive today, but we arrived at Ribas underground camp at about 4.30pm we were a day early so now we have 3 nights here. A very monotonous drive only broken by the amount of roadkill mainly beef cattle and a few roos. Ribas is a working Opal mine that has camping set up for powered and non powered sites above ground and camping underground with tent sites and individual rooms with basic amenities beds etc.
Day 5
Our first day we did the trip out to the Breakaways via the Oodnadatta track to the Dingo fence, a lot of movies were shot here and after seeing I can understand why.

Back at camp that night we attempted our first damper in the camp oven along with a bush stew.

Day 6
We spent the day looking around Coober Pedy and naturally Wendy had to go shopping ho hum what are holidays for women without shopping. She bought a pair of earings and a very nice print signed by artist. We also visited the Big Winch and several of the underground museums. Highlight was the tour of Fayes underground home.

Day 7
An early start as we travel to Uluru, we will stop for 2 nights at Curtain Springs and travel from there to the rock.
Curtain Springs campground does not get a 5 star rating but what it lacked in amenities was well made up for in its characters working there, we had a meal at the bar and sat with Peter the owner who gave us a valuable insight into the station and the area around, a lot of international travellers worked there a german bar maid, english cook and many others.
