We have arrived at about 12pm and as we had not booked we just picked the closest park to the town centre. Carnarvon is a major farming area with bannanas and other fruits as well as a large commercial fishing fleet.
We have to stay 2 nights here mainly as we need to exchange the battery we bought from Beaurepairs in Katherine as it is not holding its charge, so have not planned to do anything special here other than have a look around. A nice town situated at the mouth of the Gascoyne River is an old town with several buildings dating back to early 1900's but neither of us was greatly taken by it.
