Ok its Sunday night and we are in Port Augusta, well fed and showered and now in bed updating the blog.
We actually left home on Friday just after lunch as we were all packed and sitting staring at the walls waiting for Saturday.
We decided to hit the road and head for Wagga for our first stop at a free camp, we did not arrive till around 7pm found the camp with not to much trouble and quickly set up. Wendy had already cooked a pie beforehand so only needed heating up, a cuppa then into bed.

During the night it rained and when we awoke at dawn it was wet, foggy and bloody freezing. We quickly had our weeties a cuppa and then began the arduous task of packing a wet camper with frozen hands. We could not get out of there quick enough I have never been so cold wet and miserable. The car was a godsend and we ran the heater on high for several hours after till our feet and hands thawed.
Day2
The lovely run across the Hay plains such a boring drive especially when you have done it several times. The only highlight was this
I must say that the roadside stops in this part of the country would have to be amongst the best I have seen, this is just two of many that we either stopped for a cuppa or a wee break

Now we are onto Mildura where we intend to stay at a caravan park so we can have hot showers and dry some of our wet gear out, we arrived at a park overlooking the Murray at about 4pm a bit later then we would of liked so we set up and drabbed our wet gear over the camper grabbed a hot shower and headed for the local RSL for tea( nothing like roughing it)

Day 3
We head for Port Augusta so an early start, I felt sorry for our neighbours as we are up at 5am and on the road by 7am, a fuel stop in town then off. We want to get there by 2pm so we can have an easy afternoon to cook and relax as we have pushed these first two days. It is from here on that we really start to take our time and enjoy the road and what it brings. On our trip here today we took a more scenic route and followed the Murray thru a lot of the MIA growing areas, we even had the most awesome ferry ride not once but twice across the mighty Murray.

We are now in Shoreline caravan park surrounded by caravans, motorhomes and buses we campertrailers are a minority.
