We arrived here about 1pm and checked into Fitzroy River Lodge, an oasis in a small town of 2 shops and 2 garages and no takeaway alcohol (sob sob ). We are here for 3 days to catch up on washing and showers after 6 days in the bush.
situated on the banks of the river it is a very well appointed park, our first nite we go to the lodge for their August special of 2 for 1 Barra and chips.
2nd day I do some routine maintenance on car and camper, repair water leak from tank, check and grease wheel bearings, clean air filter and wash the car so sick of getting red dust everytime we touch it. 3rd day we head off to do the Geicke Gorge tour and what a spectacular place it is only $30/person for a 1 hr boat tour the best value for money and scenery yet.
